Garuda Linux是一個基於Arch Linux操作系統的滾動發行版。與Arch Linux不同的是，Garuda Linux帶有圖形安裝程序（Calamares），方便用戶安裝，還有其他高級圖形工具來管理系統。Garuda是一個性能導向的發行版，具有許多性能增強的調整。其中許多調整包括使用zram、性能CPU管理器，以及定製的內存管理軟體。為了保證系統穩定性，Garuda Linux還包括了Timeshift備份工具。

作為一個滾動更新的發行版，新版本其實沒有那麼重要，不過 2023 年5月1日，Garuda Linux 還是推出了新版本 Garuda Linux 230501。

筆者接觸 Linux 超過15年，日常使用 Linux 也超過12年，試用體驗過市面上幾乎絕大多數的 Linux 發行版，Garuda Linux 絕對算是這些年新誕生的發行版中非常好用，甚至最好用的之一，界面美觀，性能優異。本身基於 Arch Linux 開發，有著 Arch Linux 的優點的同時大大簡化安裝過程，提高易用性，非常推薦使用 Garuda Linux 。

Garuda Linux 提供多種（幾乎所有常見的）桌面環境，包括KDE、Xfce、GNOME、LXQt-kwin、Wayfire、Qtile、BSPWM、i3wm和Sway。默認文件系統為Btrfs，帶有zstd壓縮：BTRFS 是一種現代的寫入時複製 Copy-on-Write（CoW）Linux 文件系統，旨在實現高級功能的同時專註於容錯、修復和易於管理，並使用自動快照。

Garuda Assistant

Garuda 助手是 Garuda 開發的一個 GUI工具，用於各種常見快捷任務和Snapper：儘管是滾動發布版本的發行版，Garuda Linux 仍確保在出現問題的更新後，系統不會處於無法啟動的狀態。因此，Garuda Linux 使用 Btrfs文件系統與Snapper集成，它採用自動快照功能，在每次更新之前備份系統配置，用戶也可以直接從GRUB訪問最近的快照。

Chaotic-AUR：

Chaotic-AUR 是一個包含大量預編譯二進位文件的倉庫：Garuda 使用 Chaotic-AUR作為其中一個軟體倉庫，該倉庫在出廠時提供了大量的預編譯軟體選擇。在軟體選擇中包括很多模擬器、內核、遊戲、主題和其他常用工具，目前大約有2400個軟體包。
