社区驱动的发行版：Freespire 8.0版本发布

当地时间12月5日， PC/Open Systems LLC 团队发布了 Freespire 8.0 版本。本次更新主要提供了紧急的系统增强和安全漏洞维护，并加入了社区成员认为必要的 Google 服务。同时， 其团队还强调，添加 Google 服务并不会导致其核心改变。抛开 Google 服务，它仍然是一个功能齐全的 Linux 系统，其他所有的应用程序和 Ubuntu 的库资源都可用。除了 Google 服务，也没有其他特定供应商的程序预装于系统内。

安全性更新
